I once heard the phrase: you should own nothing that is not beautiful, loved or useful. It struck a chord with me, and it's now the "blu" in Rosy Blu and the common thread running through my business: I believe in the unmeasurable value of surrounding yourself with things you cherish to make everyday life a little more beautiful.
The "Rosy" in my shop name is a smile and a nod to my grandmothers, Bertha Rose and Virginia Rosemary, from whom I received my middle name, Rose. They represent the second important piece of both my shops, which is the drive to bring history back to life by choosing vintage over new.
It's a delightful creative challenge to make something new within the "limitations" of using only vintage materials; that's why the majority of the items you'll find in my shop are created almost entirely from vintage textiles and trimmings.
Although they sometimes come with a bit of wear and patina from age, the beauty, character and history of vintage textiles more than makes up for their "wrinkles", and I choose the best quality pieces that still have a lot of life left in them for my handmade goods.
The items you'll find in my shop were lovingly created with thought and care. Most items are unique or small batch, depending on the quantity of materials I come by. Enjoy your browse in the shop, and let me know if you have any questions!
